Bitcoin has been surging and falling in anticipation of Trump’s monetary reforms
President-elect Donald Trump is being given the red carpet treatment as he says “everybody wants to be my friend” this time around.
The world looks on wearily as another year ticks by. Those who feel victorious are still waiting for their redemption, and those who suspect the worst are scanning the horizon for threats. Chaos is unfolding as the year closes, but there is an expectation that it will be met by a new level of poise and strength soon, with Donald Trump serving as the great paradigm shift incarnate.
Old agendas are being repackaged. The North American Union is back on the table as Canada’s corrupt regime falters, Mexico’s cartels are being put on notice, and Trump’s dominance paves the way for a political takeover (framed as an alliance, or union) of neighboring states.
We are in a state of flux, where anything could happen. Fear and hope are pressed against each other, as the will of the people is once again being thrown to the winds of fate. I personally know several men who are trying to pour their life savings and inheritances (+$20k) into Bitcoin as we speak, showcasing a kind of desperation (in Canada at least,) to buy in to an alternate reality; one where the traditional systems are replaced by better ones, and our generation can finally move upward. If their gamble fails, they are destroying generational wealth in their family. None of them have wives or families yet, but all of them have hope that they can become one of the “winners” in life this way, because they are tired of being losers.
Perhaps my readers are in a similar situation, thinking of how to switch lanes and get in on the action. Perhaps you are considering investing in Bitcoin, gold, or some other asset. Whether you are tired of being a loser, looking for a safe haven, or excited about the prospect of a sea change, allow me to ponder the situation with you.
Theoretically, Bitcoin’s price reflects global doubt in traditional currencies, just like gold has for generations. You don’t buy these things in order to use them, but to sell them later. Buying an asset which is supposed to appreciate in value just means you’re giving away your dollars today to somebody else in exchange for something they don’t want today, because they believe the currency is better today. Clearly, whoever buys Bitcoin or gold today is going to try to dump it in the future, for profit. They want to dump it on somebody who also hopes to make profit in the future. The narrative that gold or Bitcoin is scarce, precious, immune to corruption, and will keep its value forever are memes that need to survive in order to keep that game going.
What else could you be doing with currency? Is there a better investment? What is the real hope of the future, and where is value truly stored forever?
(Matthew 6:19-21) Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Jesus tells us that we should forsake worldly wealth and focus on spiritual wealth. This is not economic advice, or food for thought, but divine wisdom. Money, guns, food, and all other forms of worldly security will fail eventually. In the end, you will die with nothing but your own soul, and then you will face God’s judgment. From there, your eternal rewards will be based on the kind of person you were, not your success in worldly matters.
But let’s also think about practical reasons to avoid investing. If you keep your Bitcoin in an exchange like Coinbase, their servers can be attacked, their operations can be shut down (over 400 of them have been shut down already), and the cryptocurrency can just vaporize with them. On the other hand, if you keep them in a “wallet,” these hard drives or storage devices are just as vulnerable as the silicon and metal they’re stored on. Physical burglaries become a danger. Rust corrodes, and thieves break in and steal, just as Jesus said. As economic warfare escalates and people become more desperate, we can expect cyberattacks and robberies to increase. Having them insured and keeping them in banks or storage services is always an option, but I guess the question then is just how cynical you are about the integrity of the traditional system after all. Bitcoin is a middle finger to the old institutions which seem poised to collapse, but they are not so easy to replace.
New future, old prophecy
What is 2025 going to be? For The Winter Christian, it will be a time of increased skepticism. I look forward to covering the psychological warfare being waged against Christianity, because we will overcome it, and it will be amusing. For those who have not listened to my audiobook on Revelations, which lays out the bigger picture of world events I expect to happen, listen to it here:
Somehow, there was no major incident in 2024 surrounding the US federal election, but on the other hand global events are shifting and spiraling, creating a vortex of possibilities. The stage is being set for dramatic actions. Psyops are meant to frame the optics of a situation in such a way that only certain proposals make sense, and Trump himself is going to be the target of countless psyops in 2025.
