What we’ve covered so far…
What we’re discussing today…
They’re going to kill us anyway, so let’s be worthy to suffer.
In a world gone mad…
So the jig is up. We know what’s going to happen. Spoiler alert: the bad guys are gonna turn the world into a living hell, but they’re gonna blame us. We’ll get hauled into the synagogues and prisons, while the genocidal madmen create a worldwide manhunt for truth-tellers in the name of Oneness—or something close to that.
What do you think we should we do in the meantime, friend? Play a few games of Solitaire? Invest in some stock options? Take out a loan to renovate the downstairs bathroom? Maybe try a new diet, or catch up on all those Netflix shows we missed? Seems to me that most people choose one of four paths:
Patriots, who want to save Rome from collapse through activism, journalism, civic participation, and possible violent uprisings. They’re either going to lose, or they’ll get corrupted into the Beast System as it pushes them into controlled opposition.
Ostriches, who stick their head in the sand and pretend nothing’s wrong. They’re like flags, blowing whichever way the wind blows — which means the prince of the power of the air (Eph 2:2) will control them easily enough.
Predators, who want to exploit the ostriches and avoid the patriots. They’ll do anything they can to get ahead during the downfall. They’re going to have plenty of opportunities as enforcers of the conspiracy.
Doomers, who take stock of the situation and conclude that there’s nothing we can do to undo the downfall. They have no idea what to do about it. They secretly want a solution so badly that they’ll end up getting sucked into the False Light.
The Winter Christian chooses another path: the warpath. No, not a silly insurrection of a capital, or some harebrained terrorist plot, but the true warpath of the Lord, the spiritual battle against deception. The Winter Christian will never unify—always divide. He will set himself apart as many times as necessary, even if he’s the only one remaining by the end. People will conclude that he’s crazy. He will not seek friends. He rejects alliances, movements, and ideologies that seek to absorb him into their false causes. He knows the end, and he will not forget it. They will mock him, terrorize him, and reduce him to nothing, and all the while they will create false versions of him, to lure away his listeners. None of this will slow him down.
Pleading for compromise
I predict that the tribulation which causes the Falling Away will be marked by many cries for reasonable discussion, ironically. “Thought leaders” and “trusted voices” will sound the trumpets, pleading for compromise. Remember, Jesus said we’ll be interrogated BEFORE the truly apocalyptic events begin, but this doesn’t meant things will be normal all the way until then. Already we see the rumblings of banning the Bible, demonizing fundamentalists as “divisive” and “intolerant”, and turning the world against us. All we’ll need to do is agree to give up our “exclusionary” beliefs and accept that Jesus Christ is only one of many valid paths to enlightenment, nirvana, paradise, or “Christ Consciousness”.
The Winter Christian is uncompromising. There will be no ecumenism for him; no “return to the Mother Church”; and certainly no fornication with the Whore of Babylon (a topic for another time). He will become intolerant of deception, which means he will be intolerant of the world that has become drunk on deception. Yes, he will be hated by the whole world, and he will be hated in the name of “love”. None of this will slow him down.
He will hit them head on. Rather than moving backward an inch, he will run forward.
But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist; fulfill your ministry. For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but to all who crave His appearing.
—2 Timothy 4:5-8
Death is not something to be afraid of, for the Winter Christian. It is the doorway through which we will meet our Lord, and we anticipate the day we will be shown it. As the days grow darker, we will provoke the enemy with a peaceful display of courage, taunting them with true Christian love, blessing those who curse us, and doing good to those who persecute us. We will make ourselves worthy of their wrath by being harmless and innocent. They will be wolves in sheep clothing, attempting to infiltrate and destroy us from within, but we will not run or hide from their agents.
A prayer for holiness
Detachment from organizations, ideologies, and factions is not a new concept. The “churches” were always temporary, local, and ad hoc organizations, not permanent brand names to fight over. They were assemblies—gatherings—and not hierarchies with their own traditions and doctrines. Once we let go of the modern church mindset, we can go back to a deeper question throughout the Bible: holiness.
