What you missed…
Donald Trump is dominating the Republican primaries, even as he faces felony trials by jury in the coming months.
Early in his campaign he was losing ground to Ron DeSantis, who took more populist/right-wing positions, but Trump’s martyrdom optics and pivot to outflank DeSantis have paid off.
He has given a few speeches to appease Christians and conservatives recently.

Wolf in sheepdog’s clothing?
“No one will touch the cross of Christ under the Trump Administration, I swear to you,” Trump said to roars of approval. He made them wait for an hour before showing up, possibly as a power play or test, to see how long it would take for people to start leaving. As soon as people began walking out of the hall, he appeared on stage.
But throughout the speech he seems inauthentic and awkward. He mused that God “…can’t believe what He’s… seeing. I think—Jack—I think He’s having a hard time with this one! He’s trying to figure [catches himself] well, maybe He [mumbling] but everyone else is, I can tell you. He probably understands it very well. Better than anybody.”
“Probably?” God “probably” understands what’s happening better than anybody? Clearly there is no reverence for God in Trump’s mind, he treats it like it’s just another subject for jokes. His only coherent remarks came from the teleprompter, which he struggled to read throughout the speech. He clearly had not written, rehearsed, or even seen the words before. He didn’t know how to pronounce “evangelist” and had to give it a couple tries. He seemed surprised at the remarks he was saying himself, including saying that he only now learned about the post-birth abortion proposed in Virginia (a true story, by the way).
“I will be a peacemaker and I will be the only president who can say — and I say this with great conviction — I will prevent World War III.”
Though he admitted that he wasn’t a very good Christian and didn’t know much about the Bible, Trump told broadcasters that he shared their faith and would always stand up for God — lines that brought thunderous applause. [link]
He defended Israel, and reminded everyone that he moved the US embassy to Jerusalem. The crowd was receptive to his pro-Israel comments.
The main message he had for Christians was that they could not stay on the sidelines. They needed to support Trump with all of their strength, because their survival depends on his re-election. He says he’s the only thing standing in the ways of Christianity’s destruction. For a guy who still defends Operation Warpspeed and claims to have saved millions of lives by mindlessly obeying Big Pharma, I don’t think I like his idea of “saving” people. I have the true Savior.

For additional context, around Christmas last year Trump made a similar speech, about ending the “war on Christians”:
It looks like in November we will be getting what we certainly deserve. No “probably” at all in any of it. . I shut off all MSM March 2020. It’s still off.
Terry, seldom do I ever disagree with any view point you have. In this instance, I do!
I have watched Trump for years, almost every speech and interview. I do not take from what I have read, personally watched or listened to the same way as you and find it very eerie to see such contempt for a man that from what I can see has hubris and ego (naturally from someone is such limelight and a famous public persona). I however, cannot understand or reasonably contemplate why you of all people that I respect and admire work you do, entertain and espouse such vitriol for Trump.
All the "conservative" candidates that we have to choose from are definitely not our savior, any Christan that studies scripture understand that and any Winter Christian's out here reading your impeccable work clearly know the same.
For what it matters or means, I will vote for Trump and believe only that Trump will keep (he never took us to war) from inciting WWIII, will piss off the ENTIRE WORLD ORDER that means to use the United States as the power to do their bidding as they have for the last century at least. He is certainly not a war-hawk neo and is a populist-nationalist.
Trump is a complete 180-degree from these policies and RINO (republican in name only) are a continuation of policies that are currently being implemented, hastened and encouraged by the current senior executive staff (deep state) that are clearly accelerating our rapid descent into complete hell. ALL other choices that we have and vote for any other will clearly mean there is NO! "Slowing the pace."
Only thing I can come up with is that you're trying to prevent your readers from making a grave mistake and think he is some kind of messiah but, I would believe you know your readers are above average readers/Christians/Winter Christians and would easily discern that. However, to publish articles that will be seen by the masses and take from it to not vote for Trump is equally egregious.
We can't stop what is coming but even the Lord says in 2 PET 3:12 not to hasten it!
